Dear SFOTP Supporter,
On behalf of the entire Board of the Scholarship Foundation of the Pacific, thank you.
For 26 years, your generosity has helped us change the lives of young people from Haida Gwaii. Together, we have supported 25 students in pursuing university and college education, provided more than $2 million in scholarships, and built meaningful partnerships with Simon Fraser University and the University of Hawai’i.
Today, we are asking you to help us take one extraordinary final step by making our scholarship fund at Simon Fraser University fully endowed.
We need to raise $250,000 by December 31 to reach our full endowment goal.
And we have been given an incredible opportunity to make your generosity go even further.
A group of generous supporters has committed to match every dollar raised, up to $125,000.
That means your gift can have twice the impact.
A $500 gift becomes $1,000.
A $2,500 gift becomes $5,000.
A $5,000 gift becomes $10,000.
Every dollar raised brings us closer to closing this final gap—and every matched dollar becomes part of a permanent legacy for students from Haida Gwaii.
It will be a Legacy That Will Last Forever
Our goal has always been to create a fund that will provide one fully funded undergraduate scholarship every year—in perpetuity—to students from Haida Gwaii. Meaning four full time students every year will be attending Simon Fraser University.
Think about what that means.
A young person growing up in Haida Gwaii will know that, year after year, an opportunity for a university education will be there for them.
As you consider your year-end giving and tax planning, we hope you will make the Scholarship Foundation of the Pacific one of your priorities. Tax receipts are issued for qualifying donations for both the CRA and IRS, as applicable.
