I am so thankful and excited to be the 2023 recipient of the Scholarship Foundation of the Pacific award. This is truly a life changing opportunity. This scholarship will allow me to pursue my career goals without any financial barriers. It is remarkable that a group of volunteers have made it their objective to provide such an opportunity to a young person on Haida Gwaii every year. 

This fall I will attend Simon Fraser University for an undergraduate degree in biology followed by a graduate degree in veterinary medicine. When I am finished I will return home to Haida Gwaii and use my schooling to help contribute to my community. 

The opportunity to apply for this scholarship has motivated me throughout my high school career. It helped me stay focussed and to work hard at my academics as well as to take part in extracurricular activities. I would like to extend a sincere haawa to the Scholarship Foundation of the Pacific and all of its members.
